What size is a Thailand visa photo?

A Thailand visa photo is 35×45 mm in portrait orientation (4×6 cm is also accepted) on a plain white background, with the head measuring 32-36 mm from chin to crown. The face must be straight, neutral expression, mouth closed, no glasses, no head covering (except for religious reasons). The photo must be in colour, taken within the last 6 months. The Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Immigration Bureau use the same spec for tourist (TR), e-visa, the new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), Non-immigrant Education (ED), Non-immigrant Business (B) and visa-on-arrival applications. complypic generates Thailand-compliant visa photos validated against the 2026 spec.

FAQ

Before your Thailand application.

Does this work for the new DTV (Destination Thailand Visa)?

+
Yes. The Destination Thailand Visa launched in mid-2024 uses the same 35×45 mm specification as the tourist visa — one compliant photo works for both.

Does this work for visa-on-arrival in Bangkok / Phuket?

+
Yes. Print the 4×6" sheet and bring it with you; the visa-on-arrival counters accept the same 35×45 mm specification.

Can I use this for the Non-immigrant ED student visa?

+
Yes. The Royal Thai Embassy accepts the same photo spec across tourist, e-visa, DTV and most Non-immigrant categories (ED, B, O, OA).

What if the embassy rejects the photo?

+
We refund US$4.99 via PayPal within 24 hours. Send the rejection notice as proof.
